Today is the best day of my life!!! I can't believe that I took part in the English Oratory Competition which is held at Singapore Polytechnic today, the 11th of March!!! At first when I went to Singapore Polytechnic, I saw weird people from many different types of school. There were some from St. Hildas, some from Nan Chiau and some from even the best schools, such as RGS and RI. I was telling myself....Wow, how am I going to compete with people from such good schools? I was extremely nervous, nervous till my heart went wild and my legs gone jelly. In other words, I had stage fright, especially when talking in front of a group of people. Time seemed to have passed really fast and soon it was my turn. I had to speak in front of 2 judges and 11 other secondary children. There were supposed to be more people but I did not have to face that many because we were divided into different divisions. I tried to do my best as the rules are really strict and they wanted our scripts to be at least 10 mins long whereby we have to memorize all of it(which I in the end did not have to as other people also did not memorise).Finally, after exactly 10 mins, it was over. I was relieved and the next thing I have to worry about is the prize presentation. But guess what? I actually did very well and had received a silver trophy=). I was elated and thankful to all the teachers who had helped me-Mdm Zuraida, Mdm Junaida, Miss Poon and definitely Mrs Liew(a geography teacher). Thank you everyone!!!Gladys-always glad, never sad
